Sarah reflects on her Intercordia Experience 5 years later!
Intercordia has become a recurring theme in my life. Five years ago, reading a notice on a bulletin board and taking a big leap has turned out to be a sculpting, character building and life changing experience. I often think back to the words I heard in the Intercordia Seminars, “Bare Witness! Be in Solidarity! Embrace Difference! These have become my life’s guiding principles. I am forever grateful. I agree with Sarah! As my husband and I return from Seoul Korea after a year and a half, I feel as though I am facing another ‘re-integration’ seminar on my own, culture shock and all! Intercordia allowed me to open myself up in a whole new way and embrace the culture that surrounded me. Ever since my experience in Honduras in 2006, I continually find myself wanting more adventure in my life, whether it be by travel or in my own back yard. There is this constant need to learn from others and enjoy these moments that I come face to face with and I thank Intercordia for giving me that opportunity. For the next students who want to dive in, get ready for a very fulfilling experience!
