2009/10 Intercordia Students Depart for Summer Placements

40 students from across Canada have embarked on the last phase of their Intercordia Canada experience.

The students hailing from universities across the country have arrived in their host countries to live for 90 days with a host family.  This year’s students will work with NGO’s in Bosnia, Ecuador, Ghana, Honduras, Nicaragua or Ukraine.  While overseas, students will participate in an online reflection process to help capture students’ experiences while they are fresh and to help Intercordia to evaluate how well it is carrying out it’s mission.  Students will be back on Canadian soil in mid August and will consequently participate in re-integration retreats where they will attempt to make sense of their 3 months overseas and see it’s relevance in their return home.

The staff at Intercordia Canada send best wishes to each and every participant in the program as they make their homes in places radically different from what they know.  We wish for you insight, openness, wisdom and humility during your days abroad.  We look forward to hearing stories of your adventures when you return.
