My first few days and my last few days in Rwanda…..

My first few days and my last few days in Rwanda are so incredibly different. When we first came here, I was really overwhelmed with Rwandan culture. It was very difficult to get used to being stared at all the time by everyone. Even the children at school bothered me because they would all surround us in huge groups and cling off our necks and hands. Its kind of strange to think how much that bugged me in the beginning, yet now I don’t even notice that the children are behaving the same way they used to but Im just used to it so it doesn’t bother me anymore. As for expectations prior to coming here, I didn’t really have any. There are things I hoped I would do such as bonding with the schoolchildren, and with my family. As for Rwanda though, I expected to fall in love and I have.
