Relationships

A story about a person that I have developed a special relationship with and how they were affected from their perspective.

A special relationship that I have made here in Ecuador is with my host sisters. In my last entry I mentioned how I felt about the relaionship and the postive impact that it has had on my experience here and this time my story is about them and how they feel. The hardest thing I´ve had to do here is say goodbye to my sisters and after seeing them as I let I knew that they would miss me as much as I´d miss them. We shared a final hug and an ocean of tears together during that goodbye. It was sad but one of the things my sister Elsa said to me along side “take care” and “I´ll miss you” was “I am happy you came” This stood out in my mind because it indicates that my sisters had a postivie experience also. I think that they learned from me just as much as I learned from them. They learned things about Canada, about my culture, about how some people have strange fears of butterflies and about how we can bond despite many obstacles.
