Educational
A student in good academic standing who is attending a university that has a partnership with Intercordia Canada.
Willing to undertake the course and seminar work specified by Intercordia Canada and your University in order to obtain the credits offered.
Personal
To be 18 to 30 years of age (Intercordia Canada will assess student’s maturity level to ensure fruitful participation in the program)
To be in a state of physical and mental health that will allow one to live positively in a challenging environment.
Preferably the student has a background working or volunteering in community settings. (Youth Groups; Summer Camps: School Councils, Sports teams etc. Or to have related experiences), which would foster the following attributes:
Knowledge in team dynamics
Leadership Skills
People skills - listening, empathy, openness to others
Ability to deal maturely with ambiguity
To have a sense of service and compassion
To desire academic, personal and social development
To be adventurous
To have initiative
To be able to carry responsibility
To be able to work with supervisors (authority)
To be open to participate in, and respect foreign, cultural and family traditions
To commit to the duration and expectations of all Intercordia components
